I'm in a mad rush now. A good part of the morning is gone. Our original plan was to hike to Oia, which is the big cluster of buildings on the horizon. It's only 11 klicks away, hiking along the rim of the caldera, keeping that 1000 foot drop to sea on our left all the way. It looks close, but I've no idea about the condition of the trail and there's a fair bit of ascending and descending along the way.
First I've got sprint back up the steep climb to the main trail to rondezvous with LC. I was in such a rush that I stripped my circular polarizer completely off its threads while changing lenses. I dumped the whole oily mess in my backpack and started running.
This has taken longer than expected but the whole series on the Hidden monastery is here:
The Hidden Monastery Start at the bottom of the post and work your way up.

I don't think I've seen clouds like these before. They are amazing.
Nacreous Clouds.
Mr Sanguine has posted pics of his thru-hike of the
Overland Trail in Tasmania. I'm deeply envious. LC and I only managed to visit the start and end points of the trail. I hope to get around to posting those someday :-)
